Planteray Rum
★ Bodega asociadaA true pioneer of terroir, the House selects its rums from local distilleries (in some cases as owner or co-owner) the world over: Peru, Jamaica, elsewhere in the Caribbean and even Fiji. One of the distillery’s hallmarks is double ageing. The rum is first matured on site, which can be called tropical ageing (with a considerable angel's share), in bourbon casks, before being brought to France for continental ageing in old Cognac casks. The aim is to express the terroir from which the rum comes as faithfully as possible, and to elevate it through the artisanal craftsmanship of this benchmark producer.
The line-up is extensive and invites you on a journey around the world through its range, signature blends and vintages. Some fine contemplative sipping is in store for the lucky owners of these bottles.
“A great rum is, above all, about sharing a powerful emotion born of faultless craftsmanship. We’re artisans of rum, in our own way,” in the words of Alexandre Gabriel, the master blender behind this house. Passionate about spirits and what they reveal about the terroir they come from, he first ventured into Cognac production with Maison Ferrand before turning his attention to gin at Citadelle. After a trip to Haiti, the decision was made: it was rum he wanted to explore, marking the birth of Plantation (renamed Planteray in 2024).
