Meursault 1er Cru Charmes Ballot Millot 2005

Domaine Ballot-Millot, located in Meursault, is a historic family farm of the Côte de Beaune, which has been in existence since the 17th century. Charles Ballot has been running the domaine since 2000 and is the fifteenth generation of his family at the head of the vineyard. The farm, which today extends over 12 hectares, has very fine plots of Meursault, Pommard and Volnay. For the last ten years or so, a much more natural and environmentally friendly approach has been taken for vinification: chemical weed-killers have been banned for soil tillage, and their treatment has become more sustainable and parsimonious. Charles Ballot produces very pure, classy and elegant wines. The whole range is very regular and of a high standard. Furthermore, this domaine maintains very reasonable prices!

This excellent Meursault strikes a perfect balance between a full and a taut palate. This wine goes very well with food and can be drunk after three to eight years of maturing.
