Coteaux Bourguignons Gamayoptère Antoine Lienhardt 2021

Antoine Lienhardt, owner of the eponymous Burgundy estate, manages over five hectares of fine parcels in Comblanchien, a village well-known for its ancient limestone quarries. It comes at no surprise that the vines soak up the essence of the land to create beautifully pure and balanced wines.
Antoine Liedhardt, who was joined by his sister Héloïse in 2017, is behind this single varietal Gamay, a lovely addition to the region where Pinot Noir dominates. A great deal of care is taken by the winemakers from Fixin to produce using organic farming methods. Work is carried out meticulously in the cellar so as to not spoil the raw material. The wines are vinified in whole bunches using semi-carbonic maceration and are left to age for seven months in used barrels with indigenous yeasts triggering fermentation. The final step sees a small amount of sulphur added to the wine.
This wine is a delight, with an easy-flowing profile that is fruity and fragrant. It’s the perfect bottle to open in good company, served with a charcuterie board.
