Di proprietà della società Stanley P Morrison (Morrison Bowmore) dal 1984, Auchentoshan è passata sotto il controllo della giapponese Suntory, quando quest'ultima ha acquistato Morrisson Bowmore nel 1994. Situata nelle Lowlands, Auchentoshan opera una tripla distillazione del suo single malt, rivelando il carattere fruttato e floreale del suo distillato. Componente essenziale dei blend Legend Islay e Rob Roy, Auchentoshan si è distinta alla fine degli anni '90 con i suoi single cask delle annate 1965 e 1966, testimoni di uno stile antico, poiché la distilleria ha messo iniziato un importante piano di ristrutturazione nel 1969. Nel 2007, ha continuato su quella strada e ha rilasciato due rarissime versioni single casks (# 479 e # 480, in meno di 200 esemplari per botte), invecchiate 50 anni, dell'annata 1957 e messe sul mercato in magnifiche bottiglie speciali. La più antica annata di Auchentoshan mai imbottigliata.
