Conosciuta anche con il nome di Ayrshire per le versioni commerciali, Ladyburn è una delle distillerie create all’interno di complessi produttivi di alcol di grano nel corso degli anni ‘60 (in questo caso il 1966) e rapidamente chiusa nel 1975 a causa di un contesto economico degradato. Dal punto di vista tecnico, Ladyburn era quindi un single malt delle Lowlands proveniente da una doppia distillazione (due coppie di alambicchi del tipo Pot Still installate a Girvan), la cui produzione era destinata ad alimentare il blend del gruppo familiare William Grant & Sons, Grant’s, per alleviare il lavoro delle distillerie Glenfiddich e Balvenie. Esistono alcune versioni millesimate di tipo single caks, la 1973 e la 1974.
