Il marchio Johnnie Walker and Sons ha origine nel 1820, quando John Walker, un droghiere scozzese di Kilmarnock, inizia a vendere whisky nel suo negozio. Pur avendo creato lui il marchio, sono i suoi discendenti a decretare la fama dell’azienda, e soprattutto della bottiglia quadrata con l’etichetta inclinata a 24°, che oggi rappresenta una vera e propria icona. Dopo il suo acquisto da parte della DCL (antenata di Diageo) nel 1925, Johnnie Walker ha continuato ad ampliare la sua gamma di prodotti, tutti assemblati a partire dai malti delle più grandi distillerie scozzesi (Cardhu, Caol Ila, Talisker...).
