Más informaciónThe Les Criots climat, nestled in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, is one of those precious micro-parcels, often planted with red varieties on the outskirts of the village. It lies on the upper slopes of Meursault, on very stony clay-limestone soils with excellent east and south-east exposure. At Domaine Bernard Millot, the grapes are harvested by hand at full ripeness, with rigorous sorting directly in the vineyard to retain only the healthiest fruit. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts in open vats. A gentle maceration lasting around 15 to 20 days is punctuated by light punch downs to achieve a delicate, respectful extraction of the fruit. The wine is then aged for 12 to 15 months in mostly seasoned French oak casks.
The wine reveals a clear ruby-red colour. The nose, elegant and precise, unfolds a refined aromatic spectrum of Morello cherry, fresh raspberry, peony, tobacco leaf and delicate spicy nuances. On the palate, the attack is supple, the texture silky and perfectly balanced. The tannins are fine and integrated, supported by a lively mineral tension.

★ Bodega asociadaIn the heart of the prestigious Côte de Beaune and the picturesque village of Meursault lies Domaine Bernard Millot, now managed by Bernard and his son Emilien, making him the fourth generation to do so. The eight hectares of vines are planted in Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Beaune, and grown with the utmost love and care, the idea being to allow the terroir to express itself through lively, vibrant wines.
The estate is certified organic practices, with biodynamic practices are also used (plant infusions, aeration and trellising). The soil is mainly ploughed in summer, which allows the vegetation cover to be removed naturally. Harvesting is carried out by hand at full ripeness and the grapes are placed in back baskets before being transported to the vathouse in harvesting bins. In the winery, winemaking is meticulous, with fermentation triggered by native yeasts and minimal use of sulphur. Ageing is carried out in barrels, a proportion of which have already held one or more wines.
Emilien, a generous and gifted winemaker, is also ambitious enough to plant a few rows of Syrah as an experiment, a way of anticipating the effects of climate change. Balanced wines from an estate well worth following.
