La «cuvée»

In the heart of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation and above Clos Vougeot, Musigny is one of the emblematic crus of the Côte de Nuits vineyard. This red wine has a purity and a deep ruby colour. It is characterised by a fine and floral nose with aromas of violets and ripe black berries, turning into delicately peppery and chocolate notes. After considerable aging, the aromas become more complex: shades of fallen leaves, compost, moss associated with the animal notes of leather or fur, sometimes meat. On the palate, the body is very distinguished with fruity smoked, toasted and finely spiced flavours. The tannins are fine, ripe and silky. The sensations on the palate are unrivalled with finesse and harmony.

Based in Beaune, it combines historic stature with remarkable vitality, continuing to attract leading figures of the wine world to shape and interpret its many terroirs. Now owned by an American family, the wines are crafted under the assured direction of Frédéric Barnier, who safeguards the house’s hallmark precision and consistency. These unwavering standards are what sets Maison Jadot apart in Burgundy. With 225 hectares under vine and representation across 130 appellations, not only in the Côte d’Or but also in the Mâconnais and Beaujolais, wine lovers can expect genuine pleasure at every price level, always easily identifiable by the iconic Bacchus head on the label. The estate favours traditional winemaking methods, with slow fermentations and extended ageing. Chemical herbicides are prohibited and yields are strictly limited. A house where scale never eclipses identity, and tradition continues to shape every bottle.
