Maison Albert Bichot is comprised of four domains, including Clos Frantin in the Côte de Nuits, stretching over nearly 7.3 hectares. This Premier Cru stems from Pinot Noirs vines established on the gentle slopes of a pebbly terroir in Flagey Echézeaux, just above Les Echézeaux. The grapes, organically grown for the past decade, are handpicked before macerating in temperature-controlled truncated-shaped wooden vats where fermentation is achieved with natural yeasts. The wine is then matured for 14 to 18 months in barrels of which about one third are new.

Classic and elegant, this Premier Cru offers a beautiful volume backed by a mineral structure, delivering a nice freshness until the finish. Das Haus Albert Bichot hat das Glück, 1,75 Hektar dieses hervorragenden Premier Cru in unmittelbarer Nähe zu legendären Parzellen sein Eigentum zu nennen (Romanée-Conti ist weniger als 400 Meter Luftlinie entfernt und Richebourg weniger als 600 Meter). Die 35 bis 40 Jahre alten Rebflächen erstrecken sich in Ost-/Südostlage auf Kalksteinböden. Die Domaine Clos Frantin, Eigentum von Albert Bichot, produziert unter anderem folgende Weine: Grand Cru Richebourg, Chambertin, Clos-de-Vougeot, Grands-Echézeaux, Echézeaux, Premier Cru Vosne-Romanée„ Les Malconsorts"und Village Gevrey-Chambertin„ Les Murots", Vosne-Romanée Les Maizières, Vosne-Romanée Les Damaudes und Nuits-Saint-Georges. Das Weingut Clos Frantin erstreckt sich über eine Rebfläche von 13 Hektar, darunter acht Hektar Premiers und Grands Crus. Statt Dünge- und Unkrautvernichtungsmitteln werden Kompost und Pflügen als Hilfsmittel verwendet. Dank Bodenschonung, sorgfältigem Rebschnitt und ggf. einer Grünlese entstehen Weine von hoher Qualität. Die Weine der Domaine werden in einem historischen Gebäude an der Ortseinfahrt von Nuits-Saint-Georges vinifiziert. Im Weinkeller hat das Gravitationsprinzip die manuelle Arbeit abgelöst, zugunsten der Qualität und des aromatischen Potenzials der Trauben. Das Haus Albert Bichot besitzt 100 Hektar Rebfläche in Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune und Côte Chalonnaise, die sich auf fünf Weingüter verteilen:
- Château Long-Depaquit in Chablis (65 ha)
- Domaine du Clos Frantin in Nuits-Saint-Georges (13 ha) sowie Château Gris auf einem Einzelhof im Dorf.
- Die Domaine du Pavillon in Pommard (17 ha)
- Die Domaine Adélie in Mercurey (4,5 ha)
Die Familie Bichot ist seit 1350 im Burgund ansässig, aber erst seit dem 19. Jahrhundert widmet sie sich dem Weinanbau und der Weinproduktion. Seit 1996 leitet Albéric Bichot das Haus in der sechsten Generation.
