Château Soutard Grand Cru Classé 2008
The wine
The chalky soil in which its vines grow, combined with the traditional methods of working the ground used here, have each played their part in producing a wine of character with immense concentration. Soutard produces a great Saint-Émilion with plenty of laying-down potential.
About the Producer Château Soutard
Château Soutard is one of the oldest domaines in Saint Emilion, and belonged to the Ligneris family from 1836 to 2006, when it was acquired by the insurance group, AG2R-La Mondiale, which also owns Châteaux Larmande and Cadet-Piola. The château is absolutely superb, and well worth a visit. Since the purchase, considerable investment has been undertaken. The wines are now more precise and generous.
