This Hermitage, from a winemaker who is sadly easing himself into retirement, is a real favourite with the team at iDealwine.

Hermitage Les Greffieux, Les Bessards et Le Méal Bernard Faurie 2016
The wine
With Bernard Faurie easing himself into retirement, you won't want to miss out on one of his wines. It may be under the radar, but this one has won over opinion both at iDealwine and the wine exhibitions with its elegant mouth feel, tertiary aromas (game, mushrooms, leather, and very ripe dark fruits) and underlying freshness. This remarkable wine will age for decades in style.
About the Producer Bernard Faurie

Bernard Faurie – who represents the fifth generation of winemakers in his family – makes fabulous Hermitage and exceptional, rare Saint-Joseph wines, working his vineyard according to organic principles. The wines from this domaine are renowned among wine enthusiasts for their subtlety and sophistication. This is a name we both want to share and keep to ourselves…
