Côte-Rôtie La Viaillere Dervieux Thaize 1976
The wine
A gem of a Côte-Rôtie from a property that no longer exists. The wine has a very light and delicate nose underpinned by notes of sweet spice and humus. Several years of maturation give it a pleasant texture with nicely integrated tannins. Its persistent aromas and flavours are proof that this cuvée has been made for ageing.
About the Producer Dervieux Thaize
Nowadays wine enthusiasts can rarely boast of opening a bottle from Domaine Dervieux-Thaize. After retiring, the producer shared his vines and handed a portion down to his son-in-law René Rostaing, whose wines are now among the best in the appellation.
