About the wine
This young appellation was granted AOC status in 1993; it is spread around Brignoles, a small town which used to serve as the summer residence of the Comtes de Provence, located in the centre of the Var department, it extends as far as Salernes to the north. Spread over 28 communes, the Coteaux Varois covers 1,7000 hectares; just over half of the wines produced are rosé, with 40% red and a marginal quantity of white.
