About the producer

Patrón is a brand of tequila produced by the Patrón Spirits Company. The original brand was produced by Casa 7 Leguas, one of the oldest distilleries in Mexico. It was bought in 1989 by St. Maarten Spirits, a company owned by American billionaire John Paul DeJoria and Martin Crowley. In 2002, production was moved to a new distillery. Following the example of the Grey Goose vodka brand, the new CEO Ed Brown, presented Patrón as a premium tequila aimed primarily at night clubs and bars. The strategy proved a success and the brand was sold to Bacardi in 2018 for just over 5 billion dollars. As well as the classic white and oak-aged versions, many other versions exist with flavourings such as chocolate, coffee, and orange.

About the wine

Patrón Añejo tequila is produced in Jalisco, Mexico from hand-harvested Weber blue agave. It is then aged for at least a year in French and Hungarian oak casks and ex-American whiskey casks.
