Information
This small appellation area produces mellow white wines that are highly sought after by connoisseurs. Located on the left bank of the Loire, it owes its name to one of its tributaries, the Aubance. Chenin is planted on shallow schist soil that retains heat well. Located on exposed hillside slopes, the vines enjoy an early maturing process. They are havested in successive sorting rounds to ensure optimum maturity. The grapes are meticulously vinified, allowing for mellow wines to rival the Loire's very best. Boasting an intense yellow hue with flashes of green, the wines are supple while retaining a rounded opening and lively finish. They can be aged for up to 15 years.
