About the producer

The Bodegas Naia, located in a small village in the Rueda designation of origin, is known for its significant temperature fluctuations which produce balanced and lively wines. This winery quickly established a reputation for excellence with single varietal white wines made from Verdejo grapes. Naiades is one of their top wines.

About the wine

This wine is considered to be Bodegas Naia’s best. It is produced from the oldest vine stocks, some of which were even planted ungrafted. The vines are cultivated on a plot of clay, sand and pebbly soil, at an altitude of 800 metres which makes for very fresh wines. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented on the lees for seven months – a technique that gives the wine its supple, creamy and complex characteristics. On tasting, the nose reveals notes of ripe fruit and spice (from the ageing process) and the palate’s creaminess is counterbalanced by a welcome acidic and mineral quality.
