The Quinta do Ameal family estate was founded in 1710 and is located in the heart of Portugal’s Minho region, the cradle of vinho verde. Today, it is run by Pedro Araujo, an expert in the Loureiro grape variety which is main component of vinho verde. The vineyard, which spans some 12 hectares, is organically managed. Wines from this domaine have fully earned their status as some of the best white wines in the country.
This sélection parcellaire is vinified in barrels and aged for 4 months on fine lees with regular stirring of the settled lees. It boasts citrus, orange blossom and white fruit aromas, with accents of vanilla. It pleasingly fresh on the palate, with a refined texture, and delivers a fine fruitiness and subtle minerality. The ideal accompaniment to seafood.
