About the wine
Clos de Bèze is the oldest of the Burgundy clos: in the 7th century the Duke of Burgundy gave Bèze Abbey a large domain situated in the commune of Gevrey Chambertin. The 1937 decree details the Grand Cru appellation. The Clos de Bèze wines, delicate, strong and complex are more supple and refined in texture than the Chambertins. They often have notes of liquorice and flowers. They take a long time to mature, but they are worth waiting for. Their cellaring potential varies from between ten to twenty years and even more for exceptional years.
