An Entre-Deux-Mers produced by the owner of Chateau d'Yquem and Cheval Blanc.
More infoChâteau Marjosse's white Entre-Deux-Mers has a profile poised perfectly between smoothness and vivacity. The bouquet produces indulgent aromas of exotic fruit, citrus and white flowers. The domain vinifies its grapes in stainless steel tanks before 2-3 months' élevage on fine lees in tanks.
About the Producer Marjosse
★ Partner ProducerAlongside managing Château Cheval Blanc, Pierre Lurton keeps a close eye on his own estate, Château Marjosse. He has owned the latter since 1997, and has since doubled its land to cover no less than 71 hectares. Whilst it’s located in Bordeaux’s Entre-deux-Mers region, Marjosse’s terroir is not unlike what we find in Saint-Emilion thanks to the fossil-rich chalk soil.
Nearly 40 hectares are planted with red varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec) used to make Bordeaux appellation wines. The rest of the land grows Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris, Sémillon, and Muscadelle, to make Entre-Deux-Mers wines.
This interesting mix of grape varieties is precisely what drew Lurton to the area, and his talent is showcased in the character of his Château Marjosse, an estate now renowned for its high-quality, elegant produce. Since 2017, Jean-Marc Domme has managed the château's production, conducting plot-by-plot vinification which shows off the characteristics of the terroir. Careful viticulture and vinification have lead to the estate being awarded the HVE3 label, a French environmental certificate, in 2019.
