More info

The Clos des Maréchaudes Corton is a monopole owned by the Maison Albert Bichot House. The vines were planted 60 years ago and enjoy a south-south-easterly exposure on the famous hill. The climat is renowned for being one of the sunniest in the Corton appellation, which features many climats which may or may not be deemed worthy of naming on the label. Weed killers and fertilisers were replaced several years ago by ploughing and compost. The needs of the soil are taken into account, with controlled yields to ensure the grapes are of the best quality. This is a superb red Corton that majors heavily in elegance. The red berry palate is attractive, with a finish suggestive of peony. A wine ready for drinking after 5-15 years' aging.

About the Producer Domaine du Pavillon - Albert Bichot

Maison Albert Bichot was created in Burgundy in 1831. The famous Chardonnay wine traders acquired many plots throughout Burgundy. Its fabulous vineyards are divided between several areas which have autonomous teams and cellars. Maison Bichot thus owns the Long-Depaquit domaine in Chablis, the Clos Frantin domaine in Nuits-Saint-Georges (as well as the Château Gris on a monopole of the village) and the Adélie domaine at Mercurey. Finally, on the Côte de Beaune, at Pommard, it owns the Domaine du Pavilion, mentioned here. This includes 17 hectares of vines, 8 of which are for white crus. The domaine follows a biological approach to vines with a respect for nature and a control of yields. The winery of the domaine is located in the middle of the Clos des Ursulines in Pommard
