Meursault 1er Cru Goutte d'Or Fabien Coche 2017
The wine
This plot of Meursault premier cru owes its name to the golden drop-shaped flint that makes up its soil. It is pale golden in colour with a floral nose, lightly fruity, mineral with hints of vanilla. The round and supple palate is balanced and enlivened by a lovely tension.
About the Producer Coche-Bizouard
Domaine Coche-Bizouard domaine is a family domaine created in 1940. Based in Meursault, the domaine encompasses the Pommard, Auxey-Duresses, Monthélie and of course the Meursault appellation. The vineyard is managed traditionally, by working the vines and ploughing without weed killers. The wines are balanced, fresh and fruity. Whilst they are perfectly drinkable when young, it is also interesting to explore their fine aging qualities.
