Domain: Graham

The Graham estate today is considered one of the leading producers of great port wines. Its reputation stems from its superb `Vintage Ports' in particular, deemed the very best in terms of quality. James Suckling, who had long been a leading reviewer for the Wine Spectator, and who is today known as one of the leading experts in Port, declared that: "Graham's is a shining example of an established Port house pushing the boat out to make even better wines through better viticulture and winemaking methodology." Indeed, the Symington family became involved in an innovative process and spent the last decade engaged in substantial research in the field of viticulture. Thanks to the exceptional conditions in which the Douro vines grow, as well as their variety, there is still much left to learn. By creating the best conditions between vines and soil, fruit quality is enhanced according to the type of wine made. An enormous amount of research is yet to be carried out. Even lesser known grape varieties are studied for their fascinating qualities which may lead to the emergence of superb ports.
