Domaine Jean-Baptiste Sénat, at the heart of the Minervois AOC, covers some fifteen hectares. The running of the family business was taken over by Jean-Baptiste and his wife Charlotte in 1996, despite having had no plans to follow this path… proof that a qualification in politics can take you anywhere! The property they inherited is very rich in wine terms, with many old vines (some more than a hundred years old). They cultivate their vineyard organically, work their soils, de-earth under the vines, etc. The intention is to produce "vins de terroir" which are well made and full of fruit. This domain has risen to become one of the most emblematic and sought after in Languedoc.
About the cuvée
This 100% Grenache cuvée has floral and fig aromas and a pleasant hint of wood. The first impression is lively and the palate is velvety. The grapes are cultivated on the siliceous soils of the garrigue and yields are extremely controlled (25 hectolitres per hectare) to allow them to express their full character. The wine has been aged in barriques.
