Rareté parmi la gamme de Michel Couvreur, ce nectar profond est une édition limitée de 2018. More info

You are probably already aware of the exceptional nature of Michel Couvreur’s whiskies. Some bottlings are particularly rare, such as High Privacy, a limited edition from 2018. This single cask nectar (bottled from just one cask previously used for Pedro Ximénez sherry) is exactly 20 years old, having been distilled on 23 July 1998 and bottled on 23 July 2018. This is a company that knows the devil is in the details! During its maturation in the famous Molet cellars of Burgundy, its wild peat has softened to reveal beautiful aromas of liquorice and extraordinary length.
To serve, you have two options: Either enjoy it as is with some very close drinking companions (we all have one or two friends like that), or enjoy it yourself (better alone that in poor company, right?), responsibly of course, by the warmth of a fire. Serious decisions!

Michel Couvreur High Privacy (50cl) It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: A boire seul, A boire frappé, A l'apéritif seul.

Information about domain Michel Couvreur

Once a producer and merchant of Burgundian wines, Michel Couvreur set himself up in Scotland during the 1960s and took to seriously studying the processes of whisky making. In time, he decided to specialise in the selling of unfamiliar, artisanal whisky. He favoured maturation in sherry, porto and sometimes yellow wine barrels. But the particularity of his whisky is in the cellar found in Burgundy's Côte d'Or. The large choice of barrels and the moving of these between humid and dry spaces means that the whiskies are powerful with harmonious roundness. Since he passed away in 2013, Michel Couvreur has been replaced by his son Cyril Deschamps who has vowed to maintain the family philosophy ‘Virtute et Opera': Strength and Work.
