Condrieu Côte Chatillon Domaine Bonnefond 2020 (White)

Patrick and Christophe Bonnefond are the sons of a winegrower who sold grapes to the local negoçiant (Jaboulet). In 1990, they took over the family domaine and made the decision to produce the wine themselves. Their offerings very quickly seduced the critics. These two brothers shy away from the media, preferring a quiet life cultivating their vines on magnificent terroir and producing elegant wines. Domaine Bonnefond have found the perfect balance between the tradition of their terroir and the modernity of their methods. The estate covers 6 hectares on the Côte Brune of Condrieu, allowing them to produce an aromatic white. The steep slopes of Les Rochains and the Côte Rozier in the Côte-Rôtie appellation are worked only by hand. In the winery, the Bonnefond brothers choose to élevage their wines in oak for at least 20 months. The red wines from this domaine show excellent cellaring potential. Two cuvées in particular from this domaine stand out: Côte Rozier and Les Rochains. Two fine cuvées that are the model of intensity, complexity and long finish

Le domaine Bonnefond a été repris au cours des années 1990 par les deux frères Bonnefond qui ont su apporter au domaine familial le niveau auquel il se situe actuellement. Tous deux produisent en effet des grands vins de terroir, marqués par un boisé parfois puissant mais toujours juste et destiné à une très longue garde. Parmi les grands terroirs que possède le domaine se trouve ce superbe Côte Chatillon, terroir de l'appellation Condrieu, propice à la culture du viognier, qui produit de superbes vins floraux, fruités, sentant la pêche, la vigne, les fleurs blanches, mais disposant aussi d'un côté exotique du plus bel effet qui permet de gagner en volume en bouche. D'une grande maîtrise, ils rendent parfaitement justice à son terroir. En bouche, sa vivacité élégante, son volume et sa longueur en font un superbe véritable nectar qu'une longue garde saura toutefois diriger vers plus de finesse, d'élégance encore mais apportera dans son aromatique une retenue supplémentaire qui pourra ravir les amateurs de vins minéraux et tout en suggestion. Un superbe vin qu'il faut pouvoir attendre de nombreuses années avant qu'il ne parvienne à délivrer tout son message olfactif.
