This magnificent and very elegant Cornas is aromatic, fresh and moderately full-bodied. Produced by the most prestigious domain of this appellation. More info
This cuvée owes its name to the proximity of the hillsides to the Arlettes limestone massif which allows the formation of special silicas called "chailles". Syrah vines, 40 years old, have been certified organic since 2016 but biodynamic principles have been used. Naturally, the harvest is manual. The fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts and the grapes macerate for several weeks in stainless steel vats with two daily rounds of pump-down and pump-over to extract all their substance and colour. Rich and powerful, Les Chaillés is beautifully tense and tangy. This wine can be enjoyed both young and up to fifteen years later.
Cornas Les Chailles Alain Voge (Domaine) serve at a temperature of 16°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Parmentier de boudin aux deux pommes, Rognons de veau grillés, Grives aux raisins.
Peak: 2019-2030

In 1958, Alain Voge joined his father working the small family farm and decided abandon polyculture and devote the entire land to the growing of vines. The northern Rhône appellation Cornas owes much to this winemaker who has contributed greatly to putting this unknown appellation on the map. Today, the family has vines in several appellations: Cornas (6.5 ha), Saint-Péray (4ha), Saint-Joseph and Côtes-du-Rhône (red). 13 hectares are tended to using organic and biodynamic prinipals (certified since 2013).
The property was associated with Albéric Mazoyer, the former technical directer of Chapoutier, from 2004 to 2018, and with Lionel Fraisse from 2018, who stepped in particularly after the sad passing of Alain Voge in 2020.
His Syrahs are world renowned, as are his whites and sparkling wines from Saint-Péray. The concentrated and lively wines wines can be savoured both in their youth and after ageing. A stand-out producer from the region.
