Pinot Gris Osterberg Vendange Tardive Kientzler (Domaine) serve at a temperature of 12°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Risotto au cumin et citron confit, Curry de volaille au lait de coco, Tartare de saumon au gingembre.
À la tête de ce domaine familial, Thierry et Eric Kientzler incarnent aujourd’hui la cinquième génération de ce domaine alsacien. Au sein de leurs 13.8 hectares de vignes, ils proposent ce pinot gris issu du grand cru Osterberg sur lequel ils disposent de 1.15 hectare de vignes. Ce cépage noble provient de pieds plantés, il y a une quarantaine d’années environ et qui a fait l’objet d'une récolte à la main puis d’une vinification en cuve inox qui permet de préserver la fraîcheur et la délicatesse du fruit.
La dégustation nous dévoile un grand vin doté d’une robe jaune, or foncée, traversée par des reflets presque ambrés. De celle-ci, s’échappe un bouquet aromatique complexe marqué par des notes de fleurs (acacia, tilleul), d’agrumes, de minéraux, de fumée, de fruits blancs et d’épices douces. Taillé pour la garde, il s’appréciera volontiers une dizaine d’années après son millésime. On notera sa fraîcheur, sa finesse équilibrée par une certaine puissance et une grande persistance aromatique. Nous vous recommandons de le marier à des mets de grande gastronomie comme une volaille au lait de coco, un risotto aux citrons confits ou un tartare de saumon au gingembre.
Predominantly planted with Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Blanc, the vines of the Kientzler estate stretch on the slopes of the stunning village of Ribeauvillé. As you journey along the Alsace Wine Route, you’ll inevitably encounter the majestic 19th-century edifice that stands as a solid testament to the viticultural excellence of this operation.
Today, brothers Thierry and Eric, the fifth generation of the Kientzler family, manage the estate. Since 2009, having inherited the family expertise, they have been crafting dry white wines of exceptional aromatic purity, showcasing the minerality of their terroir. With slightly more than four hectares of Grand Cru, including 1.5 ha in the legendary Geisberg Cru – belonging to only four owners – the Kientzler family can draw on a geological wealth unrivalled in Europe. The estate promotes biodiversity through the planting of trees, flower beds and nesting boxes. The Kientzler estate received its Organic Certification in 2023.
