  • This cuvée owes its name to Louis XIV, whose role in the creation of the worldwide renown of Champagne was considerable. The Chardonnay which composes it is matured for six months in oak casks before spending an extra three years in the bottle. Tasting reveals a particularly refined and elegant bouquet, stamped with notes of candied fruit and gingerbread. The palate is both rich and elegant, dominated by notes of ripe citrus such as blood orange and pomelo. Imbued with genuine freshness, it has a particularly pronounced mineral character.

This Champagne house was established in Bisseuil in 2000 by Xavier Gonet and his wife Julie Medeville. It comprises 12 hectares of vines dispersed across 8 villages. It has shot to fame and its star is still rising. Renowned for the quality of its blends and excellent vinification (without malolactic fermentation), it produces wines which subtly combine power with finesse. The secret of their success is undoubtedly barrel fermentation.
