A neighbouring cru of the famous Terrasses du Larzac, it deserves to be more well-known and merits your full attention. More info

Syrah, Grenache and Carignan have been grown on soils of gneiss and granite. After being destemmed, they were fermented slowly (3 weeks) and aged for one year in barriques (30%) and concrete vats (70%). This has given the wine both a certain complexity and enabled it to preserve the freshness of the grape varieties. Thus, the garnet hue exudes an aromatic bouquet which is rich in fruity, floral and mineral notes. The clean and precise palate is coated with silky tannins and lingers well with notes of liquorice and a beautiful minerality.

Coteaux du Languedoc - Montpeyroux Calmel & Joseph Les Crus serve at a temperature of 16°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Canette rotie en cocotte, cèpes et olives noires, Caviar d'aubergines, Civet de lapin.

Information about domain Calmel & Joseph

The Calmel and Joseph house was created in 1995 by Jérôme Joseph, in collaboration with several other winemakers in the region. Enologist Laurent Calmel joined the team in 2007. They vinify, blend and mature their wines themselves. The domain is located on a former farm that dates back to the 16th century, with a vast vineyard spanning 160 hectares at altitudes of between 240 and 300 metres. The domain produces organic wines. The house’s production gives great insight into the diversity of Languedoc wines.
