  • Produced from old vines grown in a steeply sloping terroir, this cuvée has been cold-macerated. It is then matured for one year in 700-litre foudre barrels and in 500-litre French oak barrique barrels. It can be enjoyed for its depth, rustic character and expression of ripe, spicy black berries. Our recommendation is to pair these characteristics with a dish featuring sauce or Mediterranean vegetables.

Daniel Landi and Fernando Garcia are childhood friends. They decided to crzeate Comando G in 2008 in the mountainous Sierra de Gredos region, not far from Madrid. The went on the search for vineyards planted in the most difficult, remote areas. Garnacha (Grenache) is their grape variety of choice, and their ambition is to make wines which rival the elegance and finesse of a Burgundian Pinot Noir or a Syrah from Hermitage. The 10-hectare domain is entirely biodynamic, and the vines aged 50 to 80 years, planted between 850 and 1,200 metres of altitude on soils of sand, granite, ardoise and quartz. The combination of well-draining soils, high altitude and a clement micro-climate guarantees a long growing season, wines which are not too high in alcohol and extremely refined.
