Château Clinet 2009

A great Pomerol, which year after year has shown itself to be one of the appellation's rising stars; a rounded, supple wine. Maturation has provided good structure to the tannins.

  • Château Clinet has a dark colour and a ripe, fruity, slightly woody bouquet. Medium-bodied, it is solid, powerful and seductive. Delightful in its youth, it also has an impressive capacity to improve with age.

Château Clinet has joined the ranks of the great Pomerols. In order to ensure that the grapes are perfectly ripe, Clinet carries out meticulous manual harvests. The same level of care is applied to the vinification, which is followed by ageing for 24 months in new barrels, enabling the wine to become intense, rich and concentrated.

Tasting notes - Extract
"The 2009 has a rich, fleshy, dark plum and bilberry scented bouquet with very expressive Merlot. The palate is medium-bodied. There is a lot of toasty oak, the texture is smooth and harmonious with a bitter edge on the finish. (...)"(N.Martin/R.Parker 01/2013)
