Lot presentation

Porto Taylor - Quinta de Vargellas Vintage 1987

The wine

Taylor operates three domains: Quinta de Terra Feita, Quinta Junco and Quinta de Vargellas. The latter is located at the top of the Douro Valley's pyramid of wine estates. In the years in which Taylor produces no classic vintage, wines from the Quinta de Vargellas vineyards can still produce a Porto Quinta de Vargellas vintage. However, this will then be a "Single Quinta" vintage, as only grapes from the Vargellas domain will be used in the production of this wine. The wines produced are generally more affordable in their youth than the classic vintages, but also offer great potential for keeping. These extremely elegant, fruity wines will delight connoisseurs in their youth, but can also be enjoyed years later.

About the Producer Taylor - Quinta de Vargellas

Taylor is one of the oldest and most iconic port brands. Taylor was founded in 1692, and established itself in Porto and the Douro Valley and became a reference for port lovers worldwide. It produces wines renowned for their longevity and potency, but also their aromatic subtlety.
