The wine
The Vosne-Romanée appellation is among the most prestigious in the Côte de Nuits, famed for producing Pinot Noir of exceptional elegance. The legendary Aux Malconsorts climat, covering almost six hectares, borders the Grand Cru La Tâche to the north. Here, the vines grow on soils composed of deep red clay mixed with limestone. The hand-harvested grapes are fully destalked, then undergo a cold pre-fermentation maceration followed by a spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts lasting around ten days. The wine is matured for 18 months in oak casks, with around 67% new wood.
The wine shows a beautiful deep ruby-red hue. The nose is strikingly complex, weaving floral and spicy notes of violet, camphor, liquorice and dark candied fruit. The palate opens with a broad and powerful attack, framed by firm yet velvety tannins, well-balanced acidity and a pronounced saline minerality.
