Information
Created in 1931, Domaine René and Vincent Dauvissat has been managed from generation to generation by the Dauvissat family, the grandfather Robert, the father René and then Vincent who joined it in the 1970s with a constant concern for respecting the vineyard. The vineyard occupies 11 hectares in total and produces on average 70,000 bottles per year, covering all types of crus. The keyword which guides the entire process is strict respect for the terroir: vines are cultivated in a sustainable, responsible manner, yields are modest and new oak is used for fermentation and aging. As a result, the wines are fresh and with fine mineral content, with good aging potential (leave in the cellar for at least five years). Considered among the best producers of Chablis, Domaine René and Vincent Dauvissat produce reliable, good quality wine.
Grand Cru Les Clos Domaine Dauvissat reveals powerful aromas of citrus fruit and white-fleshed fruit as well as spicy and slightly woody notes. On the palate, the same aromas are to be found, combined with a lovely mineral quality, salinity and acidity, so that overall there is great focus with sublime length. A truly great Chablis!
