Gevrey-Chambertin Dominique Laurent Cuvée Tradition 2002
The wine
Dominique Laurent reveals himself as the greatest interpreter of the fabulous Gevrey-Chambertin terroir. This is a concentrated Pinot Noir, with muscular tannins in the middle of the mouth in its early years. The finish reveals the village's superb mineral signature. A wine for drinking after 6-13 years' aging.
About the Producer Dominique Laurent
Having acquired a real reputation with the wines from his trade, since 2006, with the help of his son, Dominique Laurent has also created a small producer-farming establishment from vineyards leased to a winemaker of Vosne-Romanée. He does not deal with vinification but élevage and bottling. Nevertheless, he supervises vinification. The father and son like to work grape musts that have not been destemmed and to mature their wines without sulphur. They use new barrels, the signature of the maison. Dominique Laurent's entire range of wines is characterised by a high degree of purity and to be accessible to all ages. This recipe has proved its worth to fans all over the world.
