O Bà !, the latest cuvée from Yves Leccia, pays tribute to the Corsican terroir and his father. Combining strong aromas with elegance, O Bà ! is the result of a rigorous organic viticulture.
More infoO Bà ! is the latest wine to enrich the range of heritage cuvées produced by Yves Leccia. This wine bears a name charged with emotion. Meaning “Dad” in Corsican, it is a tribute to Yves’ father, Pierre-Joseph Leccia, who passed on his passion for winemaking to his son. Situated in the hamlet of Partinelone, the vineyard lies on clay-limestone soils resting on a layer of schist and is cultivated in accordance with the principles of organic agriculture. This cuvée comes from a blend of grape varieties typical of the region: Minustellu, Nielluccio and Grenache. The grapes are destemmed before being placed in stainless-steel vats that are temperature-controlled between 25°C and 30°C. They remain in there for 15 days and are frequently pumped over. After being removed from the vats and pressed, the free run juice and press juice are blended. Fermentation, both alcoholic and malolactic, takes place in temperature-regulated, stainless-steel vats for 15 to 20 days. Finally, ageing in stainless-steel vats lasts for 12 months.
On the nose, this wine unveils complex aromas of ripened fruit and spices. On the palate, it is rich and structured, with elegant tannins and lovely persistence, fully expressing the terroir of Patrimonio.

About the Producer Yves Leccia
In the heart of the Patrimonio appellation, in the commune of Poghju d'Oletta, domaine d'Yves Leccia is one of the oldest properties. Winegrowing became the Leccia family's main business in around 1900. Pierrot and Angèle passed the property onto their children in the 1980s, one of whom, Yves, set up his own operation some years later. Today, it is his sister Annette who manages the original domain, whose magnificent Petra Bianca plot produces the wine of the same name. The property also produces a Muscat. The property is in the process of obtaining Ecocert organic certification.
This pure Nielluccio, produced from clay-limestone soil, is aged in vats for 24 months. It is a delicate, precise wine, with lovely aromas of red and black ripe fruit, underscored by light floral and menthol notes. Complex and powerful, the palate presents good flavourful substance, characterized by great finesse and a fresh finish, evolving towards elegant tannins. Keep for: 5 to 6 years.
