The wine
Founded during the 1960s by Jack Confuron, Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot is today in the hands of his winemaking sons Yves and Jean-Pierre. Working on just over ten hectares, they craft this white Burgundy from Chardonnay grapes, the region's emblematic and noble grape variety. Drawing the necessary nutrients for their development from the limestone soils, the grapes are harvested at perfect ripeness and vinified in whole bunches. Designed to be enjoyed while young, this wine is a tasty introduction to the estate’s expertise, which is further enhanced by its pale yellow colour with notes of white fruits, white flowers and citrus. A wonderful acidity coupled with a striking minerality enlivens the bottle, the perfect pairing for delicate dishes. Of course, we would suggest pairing it with a fish or shellfish dish, however it would also go wonderfully with plates of poultry marinated in citrus fruits.
About the Producer Confuron-Cotetidot
Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot located in Vosne-Romanée, was created by Jack Confuron in 1964. Today it is managed by his sons, Jean-Pierre and Yves, both enologists. The vineyard extends over 11 hectares in Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. The winemaking is done with entire bunches of grapes, harvested to perfect maturity, producing absolutely remarkable Burgundy wines, which are very fine, frank and complex. The grapes are harvested when very ripe but the wines are always perfectly balanced. The domaine is at the top of the Côte de Nuits.
