Intensity
A northern Rhône white crafted with precision, La Sirène Blanche balances delicate fruit and floral notes, with bright freshness and refined fullness.
More infoThis cuvée is a careful blend of 40% Clairette, 40% Marsanne and 20% Muscat. The vines are planted at altitude on the granitic and clay-limestone foothills of the northern Rhône slopes, in northern Ardèche, and near Seyssuel. The light, stony soils provide excellent drainage, allowing the grapes to reach full ripeness without excessive richness. The grapes are hand-picked and ferment in barriques with native yeasts. The fermentation process is slow and temperature-controlled to preserve the brightness of the fruit and the wine’s aromatic complexity. The wine is then aged for 11 months on fine lees.
The pale yellow hue is graced with golden glints. The nose is expressive, revealing aromas of white-fleshed fruit, citrus and white flowers. The palate, is both unctuous and taut, with a fine mineral backbone and balanced acidity leading into a saline, lemony finish.

About the Producer François Villard
François Villard trained as a chef before setting up his estate in 1989 following his sommelier and viticultural training. He favours late harvesting so that they berries are perfectly concentrated. Today, his estate spans 42 hectares over nearly all the appellations in the region (except Hermitage) and it has become a standout name in the Rhône. Since 2022, the entire property has been certified organic.
François also took part in a joint project called Vins de Vienne to replant the old Seyssuel area. He undertook this with two other master winemakers, Yves Cuilleron (Domaine Cuilleron) and Pierre Gaillard (Domaine Pierre Gaillard). The initiative was a great success.
François loves to build, and with each vintage he creates new vats for his wine that he christens with a comical name, normally a play on words. He produces 400,000 bottles a year and is adored by enthusiasts and critics alike.
