The wine
This dense wine, with hints of spice, ripe black berries and touches of black olives, is 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah. Its tannins are silky, powerful and elegant. It is vinified without sulphur using indigenous yeasts: the wine is matured in barrique barrels before being bottled without fining or filtration. A Côtes du Rhône with an emphasis on refinement and a keeping potential of 4-6 years
About the Producer La Roche Buissière
Pierre, Antoine and Laurence Joly run this domain which is situated in the north-east of the commune of Vaison-La-Romaine, where Provence and the foothills of the Alps meet. The property's 18 hectares of vineyards, in the Côtes du Rhône appellation, are planted with Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvèdre. They have been cultivated in line with the principles of organic farming since 1980 and enjoy an ideal terroir, benefiting from both the coolness of a high-altitude hillside location (300-450m) and the southern sunshine. The soils are made up of clay, limestone, marl, sand and silt.
