The wine
Las Flors de la Pèira is a very nice, elegant and balanced cuvée. The nose expresses aromas of red berries and blackberry with a hint of spice. The palate is both fleshy and juicy with a pleasant fresh quality. A very well-made wine.
About the Producer La Pèira en Damaisèla
Located in Saint-Saturnin-de-Lucian, half way between La Grange des Pères and Daumas-Gassac, the La Pèira en Damaisèla domain is a recent creation (2004). Karine Ahton (a Languedoc lawyer) and Robert Dougan (an Australian composer) are the founders of this 11-hectare domain in the Terrasses du Larzac, which they immediately set out to position at the top of the range, with a highly quality-oriented approach. Work in the vines is very precise and meticulous; in the winery, the key is as little intervention as possible. This domain has been praised by international critics (Robert Parker, Jancis Robinson, etc.), as "Many observers consider this to be the most exciting estate in the Languedoc" (R. Parker).
