Cointreau Of. Cointreau Italiana Extra Dry (no reserve)

The wine

A 1950s bottle of Cointreau, a liqueur made with sweet and bitter orange peel, bottled in Italy by Cointreau’’s local subsidiary.

About the Producer Rémy Cointreau

Rémy Cointreau incarnates three centuries of boldness, heritage and innovation in the world of spirits. The adventure started in 1724 in Cognac, when a dynamic–and soon to be iconic–winegrower began signing his name on his first brandies, later honoured by Louis?XV. The king ultimately granted him the right to replant vines, which was a rare entitlement and a sign of his exceptional expertise. In the 19th century, the Cointreau family broke new ground in Angers with the development of an orange-flavoured, clear triple sec in 1875–unknowingly a revolution in the world of liquors.
The 20th century marked the union of two legends and in 1990, Rémy?Martin and Cointreau fused for the birth of the Rémy?Cointreau. Over the decades, the group has relentlessly raised the bar by launching the VSOP Fine Champagne (1927), the XO (1981) and the 1738 Accord Royal (1997). It also made strategic purchases–Mount?Gay Rum, Bruichladdich, The?Botanist, just to name a few–and developed a global distribution network. < br >Today, the house displays a refined style, under the banner of its new president Marie Amélie?de?Leusse. The group also reinforces its process of responsible viticulture, pursuing carbon neutrality and is even branching out into perfumery alongside Maison Psyché.
