About the Producer Les Clos des Carteries

Christian Venier has been in Cheverny in the province of Touraine since 1988 and comes from a long-line of winegrowers; he is the cousin of Thierry and Jean-Marie Puzelat from Clos du Tue-Boeuf. His vineyard is small, measuring just 8 hectares, planted with old vines and is worked according to biodynamic practice: yields are typically small, no synthetic products are used and soil health is paramount. In the cellar the winemaking is natural, using no inputs in line with non-interventionist methods; the extractions are gentle, geared towards the quest for greater juice purity, a silky texture and a fruity freshness. The wines from this domaine are particularly enjoyed for their perfect expression of the terroir and their good drinkability. This well-kept secret won't remain unknown for long..
