Beaune 1er Cru Grèves Le Clos Blanc Domaine Gagey - Louis Jadot (no reserve) 2004

The wine

Through this Beaune Blanc premier cru, Maison Louis Jadot has managed to reveal all the beauty and complexity of Burgundy’s white wines. This bottle can be opened after 5-10 years of ageing, and it reveals a lovely balance between body, acidity and aromatic complexity. Its fullness makes it perfect for creating regional food-wine pairings. For example, you could serve it alongside a poultry dish in a Gaston Gérard sauce.

About the Producer Louis Jadot

Based in Beaune, it combines historic stature with remarkable vitality, continuing to attract leading figures of the wine world to shape and interpret its many terroirs. Now owned by an American family, the wines are crafted under the assured direction of Frédéric Barnier, who safeguards the house’s hallmark precision and consistency. These unwavering standards are what sets Maison Jadot apart in Burgundy. With 225 hectares under vine and representation across 130 appellations, not only in the Côte d’Or but also in the Mâconnais and Beaujolais, wine lovers can expect genuine pleasure at every price level, always easily identifiable by the iconic Bacchus head on the label. The estate favours traditional winemaking methods, with slow fermentations and extended ageing. Chemical herbicides are prohibited and yields are strictly limited. A house where scale never eclipses identity, and tradition continues to shape every bottle.
