    Information
    About the producer

Yves Leccia continued at his family property in the early 1980s, after completing his studies in oenology. However, in 2004, he set up his own property with his partner Sandrine: E Croce. It now consists of 15 hectares in Patrimonio, some of the vines are from his father and the rest are rented. The plots, in particular E Croce and Partinelone, are located on clay-limestone and schist terroirs, south-west facing, at the base of the mountains that extend into Cap Corse. The maritime influence of Saint Florent Bay brings maturity and freshness.
The vineyard is planted with four main varieties: Vermentino, Nielluccio and Grenache for the reds, and Ugni Blanc for the Vin de Pays white wines. The property naturally produces Patrimonio, in all three colours, and also Ile de Beauté Vin de Pays (red and white), a red Vin Doux Naturel and some Cap Corse Muscat. The property does not have any certification, but the soil is ploughed and only organic fertilizers are used.

    About the wine

Vermentino, a grape variety renowned in Italy, Sardinia and Corsica, thrives in warm regions. Growing on clay-limestone soils on a schist base, the vines enjoy an ideal south-westerly exposure. Organic cultivation methods ensure that the vines draw all the resources they need from the rich soil. The Vermentino grapes, known for ripening late, are harvested by hand. In the cellar, the bunches of grapes are pressed whole, followed by cold settling for 24 hours. Alcoholic fermentation is then conducted in stainless steel vats for 15 to 20 days, without malolactic fermentation. To finish, the mature wines are aged for six months in stainless steel vats.
Particularly elegant, the light yellow colour adorns subtle golden reflections. The nose is characterised by white flower aromas supported by hints of honey. The incredibly fresh palate reveals a fine balance between citrus aromas and hints of flint.
