    About the producer

This family vineyard located in Condrieu dates back to Roman times. For centuries, dedicated men and women built dry stone terraces on the steeply sloping hillsides to facilitate viticulture. Isabelle and Henri decided to take over the family estate after it was abandoned at the end of the Second World War, breathing new life into it by replanting with Viognier. The vines were left to grow and establish their roots deep in the soil for several years, drawing in all the nutrients they needed. Each plot of vines is carefully tended by hand. Given the steep slope, the vines grow on stakes. In other words, they are solidly supported by a wooden stake that guides their growth throughout the seasons. The winemakers are convinced of the benefits of biodynamic viticulture for the soil, vines and wine, and are committed to the principles of natural, low-intervention winemaking.

    About the wine

These Syrah vines, aged between 15 and 34 years, thriving on sandy and mica schist soils, are grown according to the principles of organic farming. Harvests are carried out entirely by hand to avoid damaging the grapes. In the cellar, the grapes, 20% of which are whole bunches and 80% destemmed, go through a long maceration period of around 30 days. In order to reduce the use of additives, alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out using indigenous yeasts. Finally, the wine is aged in barrels for 22 months before being bottled.
Its deep and intense colour, enhanced by garnet-red glints, reveals a fine, delicate nose, marked by aromas of truffle with blackcurrant and floral notes. On the palate, the fine, silky tannins reveal luscious fruit aromas blending beautifully with spice and violet flavours, leading to a long, flavourful finish. This is a red wine that can be left to mature for several years.
