Information
Alix and Etienne de Montille took over the family domaine located in Volnay which their father Hubert made famous. In addition to the family domain, the two brothers and sisters started a trading business: Deux Montille Soeur et Frère. The grapes are very carefully selected, and the winemaking and the élevage are given the same care as the domain. A great recommendation.
This Meursault from the Casse-Tête climat is produced from old vines planted on white marl soils rich in limestone, conferring a distinctive minerality to the wine. The estate applies biodynamic viticulture practices that encourage biodiversity and respect the environment. Manual harvests ensure a meticulous selection of the ripest, healthiest grapes, guaranteeing optimum quality. Winemaking methods are traditional, including fermentation in stainless steel vats to preserve the purity of the aromas. The ageing is performed in oak casks, with 10 to 25% new wood, to provide subtle woody nuances to the wine without dominating the aromatic profile of the juice.
This process results in a remarkable complexity and a beautiful length on the palate. This nectar is characterised by white-fleshed fruit notes of pear and apple, combined with floral notes and hints of hazelnut. On the palate, the wine reveals a silky texture, a fine freshness and a perfectly balanced acidity with a long, elegant finish marked by mineral notes.
