Intensity
A Chardonnay of outstanding aromatic finesse, with a perfect balance of vegetal notes, citrus aromas and floral hints.
More infoThe Chardonnay vines, averaging 35 years, stand at an altitude of around 200 metres on a gentle incline. The clay-limestone soils, combined with an ideal eastern exposure, provide a balanced, serene environment for the vines. The grapes are hand-picked at peak ripeness to preserve the fruit and the soil. The long winemaking process includes a fermentation stage triggered spontaneously by native yeasts naturally present in the berries. The cuvée is then aged for 11 months in casks before being bottled without fining.
The pale gold colour reveals an expressive bouquet, with notes of citrus fruit harmoniously mingling with subtle vegetal notes. The intense and floral palate offers a beautiful balance of freshness and fat culminating in a deliciously persistent finish. This cuvée offers several beautiful years of ageing potential.
About the Producer Bret Brothers
The Bret Brothers domain was founded in 2001 by brothers Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret. They are also the brothers behind the Domaine de la Soufrandière. Their objective has been clear from the beginning: to create specially selected high quality wines under strict and precise specifications. The Bret brothers buy unharvested grapes and then vinify them themselves. Some of their cuvées have organic certification.
