Intense aromatiquement, ce saint-joseph se dégustera dans les deux ou trois ans à venir. Il se mariera parfaitement avec des fromages tels que le coulommiers. More info

This white Saint-Joseph owes its name to the lieu-dit at the southern end of the village of Tournon. Its constituent Marsanne and Roussanne grapes benefited from granite subsoils and red clay soils sparsely covered with pudding stones. In the cellar, pressing is particularly slow. The white must is settled, vinified and matured on the lees in new barrels for eleven months with some regular stirring. The Gonon brothers allow the wines to undergo malolactic fermentation. Les Oliviers reveals a round, creamy palate that opens into attractive bitter notes. At the same time, notes of citrus, honey, flowers and gourmet spices deliver a particularly fresh, persistent finish. This organically certified wine deserves to be enjoyed with true gourmet dishes. Scallops or risottos with truffles would fit the bill perfectly!

Saint-Joseph Jean-Michel Gerin serve at a temperature of 16°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Rognons de veau, Bar, Coulommiers.

Peak: A boire jusqu'en 2029

Information about domain Domaine Gerin

The Gerin family has lived in Ampuis in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie for six generations. Jean-Michel Gerin established his own vineyards in 1983 with plots in the Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu appellations and two very fine parcels in La Landonne and Les Grandes Places. His vines are tended the traditional way, by hand and without the use of chemical fertilisers or herbicides. Extraction is a priority throughout the vinification process and the wines are aged in low-capacity oak barrels. Jean-Michel's wines are concentrated and impressively velvety. His 12-hectare property takes in the Condrieu and Saint-Joseph appellations and the Collines Rhodaniennes IGP. Along with his wife, Monique, he represents the new wave of Côte-Rôtie producers even though his considerable experience gives his wines plenty of depth and finesse. In 2002 he also embarked on an additional venture, much further south in the sunny Priorat wine region, alongside friends Laurent Combier and Peter Fischer.
