An exceptional Guatemalan rum matured in a solera system and aged in Cognac barrels. More info
Produced in Guatemala, Zacapa rum is distilled from first-press sugar cane juice. This differs from most other rums which are made from syrup rather than the juice that gives Zacapa rum an incomparable sweetness. It develops its aromas during the many years spent ageing in oak barrels in “the house above the clouds”, at an altitude of more than 2,300 metres.
Zacapa uses a solera system in which the youngest rums are added to the older ones in a succession of different types of barrels, bourbon, sherry and Pedro Ximenez, creating a blend with an amazing complexity. Zacapa XO matures in oak casks which previously contained Cognac, forming the perfect alliance between the exuberance of rum and the elegance of the French spirit.
The mahogany elixir glistens garnet in light and reveals an intense nose with an outstanding complexity. Dried fruits, cacao, and toasted notes follow each other on the nose while the rounded rum imparts flavours of almond and vanilla on the palate.
Rum Zacapa XO Coffret (70cl)serve at a temperature of 18°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Glace au caramel au beurre salé, Saint-Nectaire, Salade de crabe et de mangue.

With Guatemalan roots, Zacapa is considered to be one of the world's best producers of rum. It has the unique feature of producing surprising drinks using the Soléra method (usually for sherry). To make this rum, the producer has a cane sugar plantation located at 350m in altitude and uses only concentrated cane juice. Only yeasts extracted from pineapple are used to ferment the wort which is then distilled in a copper still. Rewarded with many accolades by the finest tasters, these bottles are sought by enthusiasts all over the world.
