On ne vous présente plus le domaine familial alsacien Albert Boxler. Créé en 1940, celui-ci propose ce riesling issu du grand cru Sommerberg qui doit sa lettre D au mot Dudenstein. Un vin issu d'une culture particulièrement soignée qui se définit par un travail manuel (la mécanisation étant impossible), des traitements biologiques et des rendements maîtrisés afin de favoriser la maturité du riesling. Celui-ci tire profit de l'influence des sous-sols calcaire entremêlés à du granit. Une influence qui se traduit par une grande minéralité et une tension saisissante lors de la dégustation.
En cave, le travail est tout aussi respectueux du vivant dans la mesure où les levures indigènes effectuent leur travail seules. Le vin est ensuite élevé en vieux foudres afin de ne pas être marqué d'arômes trop boisés. Les batonnages visant à remettre les lies en suspension (et par la même occasion à gagner en saveurs et en texture) sont bannis. L'idée est en effet de valoriser la typicité du riesling et de son terroir. Le résultat est saisissant : salivant, fin et délicat, il accompagnera joliment des mets de grande gastronomie. Gardez-le en cave quelques années pour le laisser s'épanouir pleinement et laisser percer son fruit éclatant.
An emblematic domain of the Alsace region, Albert Boxler comprises 19 hectares of which half are classed Grand Cru. Founded towards the end of the 1940s, the domain favours clean and careful growing. In any case, the vines planted on steep terrain cannot be reached by machines. The treatments used are organic and the yields are masterful. In the cellar, indigenous yeasts carry out their work, and the wines are matured in old barrels in order to avoid a flavour that is marked by wood, and stirring is banned. The current owner, Jean Boxler, seeks before all else to highlight the particularities of the grape varieties and the terroirs through fine, taut and crystalline wines. This talent is particularly embodied in the careful work of Jean Boxler, who sees wine as a space of freedom and expression. It is therefore as an artist that he produces his lingering wines, possessing a noble texture and great delicacy.
